Bike sharing provides a cost-effective transit option for trips too far to walk, but not long enough to take public transit or drive. A bike share system consists of a network of stations placed throughout a specified area from where a bike can be taken from a station and returned to any other station. Advantages of bike share include financial, health, environmental, mobility, and safety benefits. Over 700 cities worldwide and 100 cities in the US are operating bike share system, including Chicago, Kansas City, Fort Collins, Tulsa, and Omaha.
